The Importance of Food and Training
I have started with what I really believe to be the most important part of training - the mind. The mind will work to get you the results you want.
The second most important thing that you need to consider is the fuel you are going to use to get the results you want. Eating right is not just for people who want to train. It is for every living creature. Let us have a look at what should be simple and common sense. There is so much information out there about diets and the way people claim you have to eat. This can be very confusing and unfortunately is now a very big money making racket. There are high fibre, low carbs, high protein, soup only, bananas and milk diets. In fact, anything you can imagine to eat, there is a diet using it. The most amazing thing about it is almost all of them work for a limited few people who believe in the diet. The key word here is believe. Unfortunately most people spend their lives yo-yoing from diet to diet.
What is the best diet for you?
None of the above. Dieting is one of the worst things you can do. I am not a believer in dieting but rather healthy thinking and healthy eating. I prefer to use a common sense approach to food. If you use your mind in the right way, why would you diet? The first thing you need to do is to decide how you want to look and then put that picture in your mind. Then there are two things you will have to do. You will have to think and eat yourself into the size you want to be. This might sound confusing but it is a fact. You have to really think of the exact way you want to look. Let’s assume you are overweight and you want to lose some fat. If you see yourself to be slim, and you believe it is possible, then you would think thin. Thin people do not diet. They also eat right. You would look at junk food and you would say to yourself "a thin person would not eat that". If you did, it would be in very small quantities. You would then go about eating the right foods. In other words, you would eat yourself thin.
The same goes for a thin person who wants to put on weight. When you see yourself as a person with the size you want to be you will then eat accordingly. Again it is a matter of eating yourself to the size you want to be.
If you use common sense you will realise that fat people who put in more than they use will gain more weight. Thin people who eat more than they use will gain weight. It is as simple as that. Eating right is not rocket science. It just requires a bit of understanding about food and which are good foods and which are not. Once you do that you are on the road to a healthy life and a great look.
